Oz Morsley’s love for electronic music started when he was young. Growing up with the sounds of early British electro, industrial and pop music, he quickly fell for the new and exciting tones of synthersizers and samplers. By the time the late 80’s and early 90’s dance music and rave culture arrived he was experienced in music technology, production and mastering and was developing his own unique sound. Oz gained a wealth of knowledge from close musician and producer friends and spent time crafting his skills in well known establishments such as the iconic London studio The Strong Room. He then became one of the founding members of the British electronic band EMPIRION. After setting up their own record label and having major success, Empirion quickly signed to the British dance music giants XL Recordings. Their connection and friendship with Essex based label mates THE PRODIGY found them supporting them across the globe on tour and remixing the classic FIRESTARTER. Empirion became known as remix masters in the dance, electronic and techno genre.

 

Although EMPIRION is still going strong today Oz has also been heavily involved in writing production and trailer music for established and well known companies. His music has been used in many productions ranging from UK soaps, US drama series, Playstation games, documentaries and the latest Disney Marvel TV productions. His unique sound is finding its way to many producers and music supervisors across the board and he has forged some great relationships within the industry making him a fantastic source to rely on. Understanding and interpreting a brief and working alongside people is one of his strongest abilities along with his knowledge and understanding of emotive sound. A collaborator, he’s always looking for the next chapter.
